# Turtao

> Turtao is a local-first social media manager for Mac. People and AI agents can use the same projects, drafts, schedules, accounts, and publishing history.

Turtao brings Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, and LinkedIn into one desktop app. Write a post once, choose the accounts it should reach, publish it now or schedule it, and see the result for each platform.

## For people

People use the Turtao Mac app to connect social accounts, organize them into projects, prepare posts with media, choose platforms, publish immediately, or set a schedule. Turtao shows which posts are waiting, published, skipped, failed, or need attention.

Account sign-in stays human-controlled. Each account opens in a normal browser window, where the person signs in directly. Turtao remembers that browser session on the Mac. It does not ask for social-platform API keys.

## For AI agents

Any AI client that supports MCP can connect to Turtao's authenticated local MCP server. The agent works with the same live app context and local data as the person using Turtao.

An agent can:

- Understand the project, post, or unsaved composer currently open in the app
- List projects, connected accounts, drafts, scheduled posts, results, and stored metrics
- Help write or revise the open post without saving over the person's work unexpectedly
- Create and update drafts, attach media, choose platforms, and set or change schedules
- Submit an approved post to Turtao's publishing queue and follow its progress
- Inspect failed runs and screenshots, then retry a publish after approval

The person stays in control of account access and publishing. Agents cannot read browser profiles, cookies, credentials, license data, or arbitrary files. Publishing and retries require explicit confirmation.

## How publishing works

Turtao publishes from the Mac through each platform's own website, using the saved browser session for that account. Drafts, schedules, account sessions, and publishing history remain on the Mac. The computer must be awake and Turtao must be running when a scheduled post is due.
